ABOUT THIS ALBUM:
This album was released in September 1997. It was recorded at Solid Sound Studios in Hoffman Estates, IL and produced and sound engineered by Sean M. Seeling (Phil Bonnet was assistant engineer). According to Smacks drummer Ben Kane, Phil Bonnet was the one who was able to get the Smacks in this studio, and he was present for the whole recording session.

CORY'S FACEBOOK TRIBUTE TO PHIL BONNET ON 2/17/14:
"It's been 15 years since family and friends (and Chicago, and punk rock, and music as a whole for that matter) lost the great Phil Bonnet. I was super lucky to get to work with him twice: the first time with him as assistant engineer for something that never came out (I'm not going to tag you, but if you see this... sorry, Sean Seeling!), and the second time for two songs when I first joined Nymb. The first thing I ever played bass on, in fact."

The project Cory's referring to that never came out was "Christina Molest Me," as Ben further elaborated: "The album technically never came out or was released. It was all just burned copies floating around."

BEN'S RECOLLECTIONS ON 2/2/24:
"CMM wasn't ever mass produced. The actual album was all the songs from CMM and then a handful of the better songs from the 'We Don't Like You Either' sessions. My copy was a burned CD and home printer liners."

BEN'S RECOLLECTIONS ON 3/4/24:
"We re-recorded 'Story of My Life' on 'Christina Molest Me' (CMM). We first recorded it on our previous album 'We Don't Like You Either.' And at the end of the original on 'We Don't Like You Either,' there's some crazy noise that sounds like a cough drop in Tori's mouth and then a symbol and a floor tom falling over. We have no idea what it was. We don't remember how it got there, but we loved it. We wanted to re-record it on CMM, and we tried to recreate that sound. The studio had an old pair of hi-hat symbols and they let me whip them at the ground as hard as I could and that's what you hear on the newer version of it from CMM.

The official album cover was of Tory's ex-girlfriend, Amy Wolff, being attacked and stabbed with a Barbie doll.

Cory had a slightly offensive Rastafarian impression the end of 'Zoloft Girl.' We took it out because it was a little risque. It does not make it any less hilarious though. Picture Cory saying 'it kills, Mon!' in a shitty Caribbean accent. Lol.

At the end of 'Just What I Needed' when it goes double time, Tory had Cory scream 'blahhhhhhhhhhhhrgggggg!!' as loud as he could, but Cory hated it and wanted it taken out. We were in stitches! We ended up taking it out. You can hear Cory yell "CUT" at the very end. That is Pete playing the Ebow during the melodic guitar solo. Cory tried but couldn't position it right."
